Home/Christina Hession

My dad who had been ill for some time, died during the first Covid 19 lockdown in April 2020.
Coronavirus signalled the end of funerals as we knew them. The funeral and grieving process has been very surreal. It was strange having so few of us in the church. We were very touched that neighbours not just from our village, Garrafrauns, but from adjoining villages, lined the route from our house to the church and from the church to the graveyard. This is such a lovely tradition. I hope it continues post Covid. The condolences page on came into its own during this period. We missed sharing stories about dad’s long and rich life with neighbours and former work colleagues, at the funeral. However, the messages on RIP,ie were so comforting.
