Traditionally, at harvest time, young men and women wove decorative ‘harvest knots’ from ripe straw, which were exchanged as love tokens or worn as buttonholes. Join Brendan McGowan of Galway City Museum to learn more about this custom and have a go at making some different types of knots.

As places are limited, advance booking is advised. Call the Museum on (091) 532460 from Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 5pm.
